Well my friends, as you can see above this year is like none other. Four teams at the top with the same record, a very, very close race for the remaining 4 playoff spots, 2 former champions in the bottom 4 teams, and a winless team in WEEK FUCKING NINE. We have seen first round busts like Andre and Chris Johnson, Super Bowl contenders collapse like the Chargers, and incompetence by GM’s on how to set a line up in fantasy football. In an era of high scoring by teams and players, there is nothing more baffling than how some fantasy teams are finding ways to get completely blown out week in and week out. Rather than recap the week 9, let’s take a specific look at each team and where they have been, and where they are going.
King of the North (0-9)
I honestly don’t know. Bob says he didn’t realize what he was getting into, got sick of the 12th man jokes, is doing good in another league so he doesn’t care, and hasn’t been able to start a complete lineup in 3 of the last 5 weeks. Despite the 0-9 record, he has the 2nd lowest waiver moves in the league and really blew a great opportunity to have some glimmer to the season when he could have easily knocked off the first place in the league by simply clicking and dragging an IDP into the slot labeled for IDP’s. When Bob joined us, I truly thought he’d have the heart of a lion, Shere Punjab, and the wrath of a true lawyer, slaying opponents left and right and laughing along the way. I have let STY down with this acquisition and for this I am sorry. I hope that he will continue to at least start a lineup, but as we have seen, waiver moves or improving his team really aren’t a priority at this time. An anonymous GM in the league was quoted saying “This is why WuGu sucks dick.”

Gizmodo (1-8)
Just when I thought we have seen it all on the losing end, here we have a team that has lost 8 in a row. He didn’t even start 3 players in week 8 and got in his lineup at 12:47 PM EST for Week 9 to go on to lose by 21. Dizzle has the league low number of waiver moves at 5 total, despite losing Andre Johnson early on and having a hole at RB 2 since the beginning. All we can do is really thank these teams for their donation, nothing else really to discuss about their performance, or lack there of.
** Special Notice: Please be aware at the conclusion of the Week 16 championship, the BOTTOM 2 teams will be voted on by the league as to whether to keep the GM in the league for the following season.**
Curbstompers (3-6)
Amar has had a stroke of hard luck, losing 3 games by a total of 12 points, and his role model and hero in life Peyton Hillis being possibly the biggest disappointment the NFL has ever seen from a Madden cover boy. He comes up with a big 6 point win against Suman, possibly saving his season and putting him back in the playoff race. The Cam pick up has been great, but the Hillis and Bradshaw losses can hurt this team long term. A.P can carry the team on certain weeks but with the weak WR core, the team is way too inconsistent to really bank on anything.
Cash Money Records (4-5)
Well look who we have here rounding out the bottom 4 (after a bottom 4 finish last year as well). Suman was quoted on early in the year after the high draft praise he received, saying “I just waited for the rest of you to fuck up.” If only arrogance counted for points on the field, especially after an atrocious week 9 effort totaling 77 points from this “best team of the draft.” Other than a few wins against the middle to bottom tier teams in the league, this team has struggled against stiff competition and that is largely due to the performance of CJ2K. The mav got paid. Desean’s underperformance and the QB situation in Arizona has really hurt the team, but with Stafford back on the field this week, hope could be restored.
Coochie Monsters (4-5)
Rahul has quietly put together a decent season but keeps losing the games that would have elevated him into the next tier. He was the lucky one that got to play Bob twice this year, and got the other wins against similar competition. The tough part of his schedule comes now starting with Amar this week. There isn’t really one person on the roster that you can look at and be assured they will turn in a big game, other than the Pitt D. So the season goes as such, you never know what to expect from this team.
Thugocracy (4-5)
Billy has turned his season around tremendously since starting 0-4 and is now right in the thick of the playoff race. He leads the league in waiver moves with 28 (TAKE NOTE) and has turned around his entire season. Maybe there is some correlation there? Maybe? After an impressive 4 game run, knocking off Cohin, Ravi, Amar, and Vishal, Rama finally put the republican back in place this week. Vick is starting to heat up and Steve Smith and AJ Green have been nice surprises. If the RBs can stay healthy, this can be a dangerous team at the right time of the season.
K.O.D (4-5)
Cohin has had a tough stroke of luck, scoring the 4th highest point total in the league, yet sitting at number 6. Week in and week out, this team puts up one of the top 5 point totals, but happens to match up against a team that is on a hot streak. Luckily he has two easy ones coming up for the next two weeks, so hopefully this will help him position into a favorable run in the playoffs. Rodgers was a master stroke of a #1 pick as he has been hands down the best player possibly ever for fantasy purposes. The smooth pick up of Forte and a resurgent Bolding and Holmes make this team a high octane offense every game. The D is the big hole here, but the rookie Julio and breakout Hernandez are picking up the slack. I’d be very afraid of this team in the playoffs.
ImGayForBradyQuinn (6-3)
Ajay has definitely been the surprise of the league after starting with the lowest draft ratings. He is going into a tough part of his schedule, however, but maybe has positioned himself to get into the playoffs regardless with the 2 game cushion. Fred Jackson has been a great surprise along with the solid play of Brees and Bowe. It will be interesting to see where this team stands at the end of the season.
HHAY (7-2)
Vishal retains a great season despite moving into the final third of the season, well beyond his usual first quarter dominance. He has had impressive wins throughout and remains consistent in his point total. Although Tom Brady will always be a beast, the rest of this team makes me uneasy and I don’t know if they will perform come playoff time. Hit or miss here.
G.O.A.T (7-2)
Some things don’t make sense and this is one of them. Last season, Rama started at 0-4 and tore the league down to win the regular season title. This year he picked from the 11 spot and wasn’t particularly happy with his draft, yet has embarrassed teams week in and week out. You can’t go wrong with Big Ben and LeSean McCoy is turning into a beast. The WR core is getting it done and a healthy Gates at TE will always put up points for this team. Huge threat moving forward.
Championship Belt (7-2)
Ravi has quietly moved to the top of the league, especially with a big win over KOD this week and putting up the High Point Total of the Week. VJax, Arian, and Jennings are always threats to explode and the increased role of Jacobs makes this a very dangerous team. Matt Ryan is a good QB, but will the young gun stay consistent until the end of the season? This may decide this team’s fate.
DockSquad (7-2)
Sometimes having a good team is not enough and you need some things to fall into place on their own. Vik’s team has been killing teams from the start, but getting to play a KOD team with 6 starters on Bye, and playing Bob back to back, gave him two easy wins. Sproles has turned into a fantasy football beast and complements Ray Rice perfectly. Although Ike Taylor shut down Welker in Week 8, he has otherwise been a monster in this PPR league, making up for the average season of Miles Austin. Schaub continues to roll without AJ, but now with him coming back could be even more dangerous. This team has to be the favorite at this point, based on the record and point total.
A Look Ahead…
We move into the final tri-mester of the regular season, where everything has playoff implications. Some of us will not even be in this league next year, and some will live through tormenting and embarrassment for an entire year. Who can step up and determine their destiny and demand the respect they believe they deserve. Who has the perseverance, knowledge and determination to take the STY title this year? The time is now. You may win your hehe work league, or fun broski league with buddies, but there is only one fucking STOMP THE YARD!!!
